CLUB INFORMATION

Age groups and teams

We aim to have age groups playing in teams from age 6  years (Under 7)  through to 18 years (Under 19);  if we succeed in this, we will have the involvement of approximately 200 “youths” and officials.

Club Colours

Our colours are red and white and, wherever possible, the teams will sport a strip of red and white striped shirts with  red, black or white shorts and socks. This has been the “uniform” of the club since it was started in 1970.

Recruitment base

We draw our players mainly from the Troon area with many coming through the schools and local youth organisations. We are very much a Youth organisation, run and organised by parents. We encourage players to remain in contact with the club and many assist in the organisation, coaching and other capacities to add to the team of dedicated volunteers.

Club base and venues

Currently the club has no “base” but we hope to establish a permanent base within Troon where we can call “home” and the Committee is working hard,  in partnership with the Local Authority and with the local community's backing, to achieve this in the near future.

Currently, the seven-a-side teams aged from U7 to U11 play their football at the pitches at Struthers Primary School,Troon ( off Staffin Rd from Deveron Rd and Kilmarnock Rd), and our eleven-a-side teams from U12 onwards play at Hosiery Park, Troon (off Brown Av from Logan Drive & Dundonald Rd). We also have the use of the Marr College palying fields, with the kind permission of S.A. Council and the school for which we are very grateful.

Coaching

We encourage all our team managers/officials to further their knowledge of the game by providing coaching courses through the S.F.A.and the local community coaching network. First aid is also a priority for our team managers and coaches. Many of our coaches are parents who came to help and stayed, usually with their child’s group.

Affiliations and Memberships

We fully support the concept of the small-sided game being played on a non-competitive basis enabling our younger children to develop their skills in the correct environment. We are affiliated to the S.Y.F.A. (and therefore the S.F.A.), the West of Scotland Y.F.L. and the Central Ayrshire Y.F.L.
